Overview

Yiyang Yang is a experimental film explores the themes of yin and yang, duality, and unity in Chinese traditional culture.

Project description

This is a film made using Unreal Engine 4 and motion capture technology. It explores the themes of yin and yang, duality, and unity in Chinese traditional culture. Through stunning visual effects and performances, the film invites the audience to contemplate the complex relationships between opposing forces and how they come together in harmony. It is a unique and thought-provoking exploration of one of the most fundamental concepts in Chinese philosophy and culture.

Asset production

Once our storyboard was complete, we rigged our character in C4D and retargeted it in MotionBuilder. We then imported it into Unreal. The character's animation was captured through motion capture using Optitrack technology. To achieve a traditional Chinese ink effect, we incorporated some stroke post-processing and shaders into the project.

(the post procssing effect and ink shader were done by MIngxi Xu)

In order to create a cohesive and visually engaging experience,we designed the scene and post-processing.
